The championship will also have a novice event, which will take place on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.

Beginning and recreational players are encouraged to come out and see how they stack up against anyone in the community. The novice event will be for all ages.
Registration must be done before the event by Friday April 18. Individuals can pick up an entry form at Sport Yukon up until April 18.
There will also be an opportunity to sign up at Holy Family Elementary School on Tuesday evening during the club session, which goes from 7-9 p.m. Entry forms will be available at Whitehorse Elementary School on Sunday from 1:30-4 p.m.

The entry free is $10 per event.

Cash prizes will be awarded for the event and will include $50 for the winner of both the male and female events.

Second place will be $25, while third place is $10 and fourth will be awarded $5.

Trophies and medals will also be given out at the championships.
“It’s the highlight of the year,“ said Dave Stockdale, president of the Yukon Table Tennis Association.

“It just wraps up our activities and sometimes brings out those people who only come once or twice a year that like to play a little competitive table tennis.“
