Twin towers on the blueline led the Sour Pusses to a no-doubt jamboree tournament victory Saturday night.

Stephanie Hedley and Vanessa Bogaert each scored hat tricks in the Sour Pusses’ 6-2 win over the Frisky Whiskeys in the championship final at Takhini Arena.

Hedley’s first-period marker was the only goal through two periods.

But early in the third, she snapped a wrist shot from the slot past Frisky Whiskeys goalie Kim Stavert to give her club a 2-0 lead.

She would add a third goal on a breakaway later in the game.

Meanwhile, Bogaert calmly gloved a clearing attempt down at the blueline, walked in and sniped a shot past Stavert’s blocker to make it 3-0.

Bogaert added her second on a beautiful individual deke past a poke-checking Stavert and completed her hat trick by scoring into an empty net.

Coralie Ullyett and Tanisha Leas scored for the Frisky Whiskeys in the third period but it would not be enough.

Following the final buzzer, members of the Sour Pusses celebrated by hoisting one of the territory’s most unique trophies – a creation made up of a skate, stick, two foil-wrapped pucks and a bra.

The tournament consisted of four teams – each playing five games.

The Sour Pusses went undefeated over the weekend, while the Frisky Whiskeys suffered just two losses – both at the hands of the eventual champs.

Meanwhile, the Rum Bums and Jäger Bombers tied their first game 8-8, and the third-place game took a shootout to decide, with the Jäger Bombers pulling it out after the game ended in a 5-5 draw.

The annual jamboree showcases the Whitehorse Women’s Hockey Association and provides an opportunity for non-league members to get their hockey fix for a weekend.

Alongside Hedley and Bogaert, members of the tournament-winning squad included: Emmalee Agnew, Alison Anderson, Chris Blodgett, Fred Janvier-Crête, Jenny Darling, Sarah Lewis, Marie-Claude Normand, Anna Peacock, Erin Peacock, Jess Wood and Hannah Woodwalker.
