Magnificent Macdonald too good for the opposition
Like the Pied Piper, Danny Macdonald had everyone playing to his tune in over 35 soccer action this weekend.
Like the Pied Piper, Danny Macdonald had everyone playing to his tune in over 35 soccer action this weekend.
Macdonald scored three and was a constant threat as Pepsi secured their first win of the season 9-4 over a gallant Klondike Business Solutions side.
Playing in front of a hostile crowd, the game was close until half time, with both sides having good chances, but the second half was a different affair with goals pouring in from skipper Phil Jackson, JP Ladroue, Steve Insley, Ross Lindley Simon Pulido and Jan Aalt van den Hoorn. Even though KBS had Dave Black back from a central America wine-tasting tour he could not turn the tide, KBS goals came from Andy Todd (2) Travis Schommer and Arnold Hedstrom.
Yukon Brewing undefeated
The mighty Yukon Brewing juggernaut made it four wins out of four in an impressive display, as they ran out 4-1 winners over Tony’s Pizza.
The Rayo boys, Guliliano (1) and David (2), were again in fine form, their link-up play and understanding made it very hard for the opposition to break them down.
Mark O Brien’s self-claimed goal of the season was the Brew’s other goal.
George Maratos made amends for last week’s performance with a mistake-free game. Tony’s Pizza were certainly missing Mamadou’s speed and power and were reliant on the slower and more careful approach from Eric Murphy who got Tony’s Pizza’s goal.
