Assante’s stranglehold on top spot in Div. 1 squash continued Tuesday.

The team demolished Outside The Cube (OTC) 19-10 at Better Bodies Fitness to improve to 146 points on the year.

Earls Restaurant – currently in second place – also won big, downing TSL Contractors Ltd. 24-7 to improve to 134 points on the season.

Better Bookkeeping edged Yukon Tree Services 17-15 in the night’s other contest while Aurora Geosciences enjoyed a bye week.

Assante’s Mark Tubman, Michael Tilbrook and Ben Grundmanis all secured wins over their OTC rivals, while Drew Osborne suffered the team’s lone loss by a score of 3-0 to substitute Emilie Herdes.

Earls Restaurant, meanwhile, secured a sweep over TSL Contractors, with each of Tyler Nesgaard, Shahid Syed, Glenn Rudman and Gary Tanner picking up victories.

Better Bookkeeping players Sam Penner and Danny MacDonald won their matches in a squeaker, while substitute Max Beauchamps and Keegan Kwok notched wins for Yukon Tree Services.
