HARRY KULYCH

March 5, 1937 – March 8, 2024

His work here is complete. On March 8th Harry received a call with an offer he couldn’t refuse, and while he won’t be returning, it came with a great bonus. He will be reunited with family and friends he has not seen in a long time.

Harry was born and raised in Alberta and was the youngest of six children. He married the love of his life Angie Jankow in 1957 and they had four children, Dale, Ron, Vickie and Tammy.

In 1966 Harry’s trucking career brought the family north and Yukon became home and the place where three generations of Kulychs would build lives in the land of the Midnight Sun.

Harry and Angie’s best years were spent being Baba and Dido to eight rambunctious and wildly different grandchildren, Natasha, Landon, Kaleb, Kane, Kendra, Tanner, Randi and Brayden, all of whom inherited Harry’s penchant for debate and unwavering passion for their beliefs. Harry’s joy was truly his family. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren become parents themselves to his great-grandchildren, Izabella, Ayla, Ember, Dax, Hallie and Sadie.

Harry spent his final years back and forth between Whitehorse and Edmonton with his very good friend June. They shared many laughs and a little friendly competition on the golf course, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Harry (Dido) will be greatly missed by those of us left behind. His solicited and unsolicited advice, visits, debate, and support rink side, court side, and in the audience will leave a gap in our lives.

We want to let him know, we appreciate the job he did here, and wish him a safe journey. He leaves behind a legacy of love and hard work.

Many thanks to Dr. Xiu-Mei Zhang, long-time friend and Doctor.

We invite you to join us for a celebration on Saturday, April 6th at 1:00 pm at the MacBride Museum, 1124 Front Street. Whitehorse, Y.T.
