WOHL Update: Wipf nets hat trick as Timmy’s triumphs over CapriCMW

Dave didn’t Wipf on many shots as he rifled home three goals to lead Tim Hortons to a 7-5 win over CapriCMW in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday night at Takhini Arena. Mike Blower scored a late powerplay goal for the game winner, and added another, and Danny Horassi (with his first oldtimers goal) and Chris Lane served up the other two.
Ron Billingsley scored a hatty for Capri, and d-men Scott Palfreyman and James Pugsley added one apiece.
Titanium Storage 5, Kilrich 3
Josh Savill popped in a pair in victory, speedy Chris Carli added one, as did not-as-speedy Blaine Demchuk and Bryan Koop.
Arlo O’Riordan, Martin ‘Dylan’ Lawrie and Ben Kielb replied for the industrious ones. Ron Daub was -5 in the game.
Yukon Inn 4, Air North 3
Team GM Joel Witten’s second goal of the game proved to be the winner as the Inn crew kept their hold on top spot in the league. Brad Hameister and Willy McKenna (three apples as well) rounded out the scoring for the victors.
George Maratos continued his tear with two goals, and Kirk Price netted the third.
Medicine Chest 8, EDI 4
Rick Smith collected the third showering of hats on the evening for MC, Derek Bilodeau contributed two and Shawn Kinsella, Gerry Rivest and Pete Mostyn added singles.
Kevin Johnstone added the evening’s fourth trio of goals in defeat, and Dustin Heffner netted one marker.
Thursday
CapriCMW 6, Kilrich 5
Phil MacDonald scored early in the second period with what proved to be the game winner as CapriCMW got off the schneid with their first win of the young Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey season Thursday night at Takhini Arena, a 6-5 win over Kilrich. Scott Palfreyman paced Capri with a hat trick, Garrett Kuptana added the other two.
For Kilrich, Martin Lawrie pounded home two, and singles came from Mark King, Anthony Grottoli and Arlo O’Riordan.
EDI 4, Titanium Storage 3
Dustin Heffner’s goal midway through the second period stood up as the winner in the EDI triumph.Greg Charlie sifted in a couple and Vernon Asp snaked in the other in the win.
Tyson proved his Wirth as he collected all three goals for Titanium.
Wednesday
Medicine Chest 3, Firth Rangers 2
Nate Clark scored all of MC’s goals, and the team killed off six of seven power plays against them to hold off Firth in a rough and tumble contest.
Mervin Jacobsen and Colin Nash replied for the Rangers.
Yukon Inn 9, Tim Hortons 2
Greg Lane netted a hat trick to lead Yukon Inn into sole possession of first place in the standings. Lance Bevilacqua and Josh Turcotte each added two, and Gerry Brandt and Willy McKenna added solo shots.
Kyle Rolling and Lorne Burnett replied for the coffee crew.
