WOHL Update: Newbies come through for Yukon Inn in triumph over Tims
Who knew,
Who knew, but three newbies knew what to do as they each scored to lead Yukon Inn to a tight 3-1 win over Tim Hortons in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday at Takhini Arena. First-year oldtimers Joel Talbot, Brad Hameister and Reggie Laguerre (empty netter) did the damage for the Inn, while Marcel Barrault replied for Tim’s.
Kilrich 2 CapriCMW 2
Mark King connected with less than two minutes to go to give the builders the tie, and Arlo O’Riordan got the other.
For Capri, it was Ron Billingsley and Ed van Randen bulging the twine.
Titanium Storage 5 EDI 1
Five different players released some stored-up goal energy for Titanium - team owner Rick Moses, Tyson Wirth, Kris King, Blaine Demchuk and Josh Savill.
Al Hansen replied for EDI.
Firth 8 Medicine Chest 2
Firth continued to roll, as Ryan Martin and Frank Aucoin each recorded hat tricks in the victory. Jeremy Germaine and George Morgan added one apiece.
For the Chest crew, it was Shawn Kinsella and Kevin Topping netting goals.
Thursday
Yukon Inn 2 Kilrich 1
Geordan Clark rifled a snapshot high glove side midway through the final period that proved to be the winner for the Inn mates. Joel Witten added the other, while Arlo O’Riordan replied for Kilrich.
CapriCMW 7 EDI 0
Scott Palfreyman was in on six of the Capri tallies (four goals, two assists) as the green guys blanked EDI behind another stellar outing in net from Paul Husband. Ron Billingsley added two markers, and Phil MacDonald netted the other.
Wednesday
Firth 7 Titanium Storage 2
Michel Dubois and Frank Aucoin led the charge again for the Rangers with a pair of goals each. Peter Johnston, Colin Nash and Alfred Feldman also scored. For the Titanium team, it was Chris Carli and Kris King connecting.
Air North 8 Tim Hortons 1
Mike Sage potted three in the win, Kirk Price added two, and singles came from Adam O’Dell, George Maratos and Dane Freiburger.
Chris Nash replied for Tim’s.
Yukon Inn leads the standings with 27 points (13-2-1).
Frank Aucoin has overtaken Nate Clark for the scoring lead with 37 points (29G, 8A) in 16 games. Clark has 32 (18G, 14A) in only nine games.
Glen Traverse leads all goalies with 13 wins and a 2.81 GAA.
