WOHL Update: Blower blows away the competition to power Tims over Firth
Mike Blower blew away the competition as he was in on all six of Tim Hortons’ goals in the team’s 6-4 win over Firth in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday at Takhini Arena.

Blower’s three goals and three assists also locked up fifth place in the standings for the Timbits. Peter Kirby added a pair of goals, and Matt Johnson netted the other.
For Firth, it was Peter Johnston with two, and one apiece from Duane Purych and Ryan Martin.
EDI 5, CapriCMW 3
Dustin Heffner scored the game winner with 7:44 on the clock, his second of the game, to pace EDI. Vernon Aso, Luke Sugden and Kevin Johnstone were the other marksmen. Phil MacDonald, Scott Palfreyman amd Mike Gau replied for CMW.
Air North 9, Titanium Storage 4
Jeff Kalles(!!!), Brent Stokes and Kirk Price were flying with two goals each in victory, and Brian Currie (plus four apples), Dave White and Stu Mackay also connected. Chris Carli notched a couple in defeat, and Bill Bohmer and Josh Savill potted one apiece.
Kilrich 6, Yukon Inn 2
Ben Kielb pounded in three, Arlo O’Riordan two and Doug Janzen one for the winners. Geordan Clark and Lance Bevilacqua responded for the Inn.
Thursday games saw Yukon Inn tie Kilrich 3-3, the single point enough to clinch the league regular season title for the Inn.
That same night EDI tripled up CapriCMW 6-2.
Wednesday it was Firth 8, Titanium Storage 2; and Air North and Tim Horton’s tied 3-3.
The playoffs are mostly set, with only sixth and seventh spots to be decided on Wednesday night.
Playoffs begin March 27.
The Yukon Inn finishes atop the standings with 61 points (29-8-3), edging Firth by 2 points. Firth finished with 59 points (27-8-5), with the difference being two more ties for Firth. EDI finished a distant third with 40 points (23-14-3).
Firth’s Frank Aucoin finishes as the top scorer with 97 points (59G,38A) in 40 games. The super sniper also takes the goal scoring title.
Capri’s Scott Palfreyman is a distant second with 69 points (43G, 26A) in 35 games, with one game to go for Capri.
EDI’s Dustin Heffner came in third in the standings, one point behind Palfreyman, sitting at 68 points (41G, 27A).
Among goalies, EDI’s Paul Dainton finishes first with a minuscule 2.38 Goals Against Average.
Glen Traverse of the Inn came in second with an even 3.00 GAA.
Firth’s Stacey Bowden finished in third with a 3.17 GAA.
In goalie wins, Traverse led the league with 27 victories.
Bowden was second with 20 wins.
Dainton came in third with 19 W’s.
