Team sports are all about, well, the team.

Team sports are all about, well, the team. And veteran old-timer Steve Arrell proved his worth to Kilrich on Sunday with two goals, and also took one for the team with an assist off his kidney on the game winner by Anthony Grottoli in a 6-4 win over CapriCMW. Midway through the second period, Arrell deftly bodily deflected a point shot to a waiting Grottoli, who fired home the winner. Arlo O'Riordan, Mark King and Carl Cibart also scored for the builder boys.

Scott Palfreyman, Mike Gau, Ed van Randen and Kerry Pettitt responded for Capri.

EDI 6 Titanium Storage 5

Kevin Johnstone and Dustin Heffner each scored two for EDI, and Rick Gingell and Ernie Jamieson rifled in one apiece. Titanium scored five on a usual stingy Paul Dainton, but it wasn't enough.

The locker lads were paced by Josh Savill's hatty, and one apiece from Kris King and Blaine Demchuk.

Yukon Inn 2 Tim Hortons 1

Two late goals by Geordan Clark (the second on the pp with only 1:33 left) gave the Inn team the close win.

Mike Blower responded for Tim's.

Firth 9 Medicine Chest 3

Frank Aucoin padded his league leading goal scoring total (39 now in 24 games!) with three more for Firth, Mervin Jacobsen added two, and solo scores came from Michel Dubois, George Morgan, Duane Purych and Peter Johnston.

Jeff Jensen, with two and Kevin Topping scored for the Chest.

Thursday

EDI 8 CapriCMW 1

Vernon Asp snaked his way through the Capri defence to record a hat trick, and single strikes came from Kevin Johnstone, Bernie Heffner, Mike Hawkins (!), Greg Charlie and Al Hansen. Capri's Mike Gau spoiled the shutout.

Yukon Inn 9 Kilrich 1

The Inn men again showed their depth as seven different snipers connected in victory. Greg Lane and Geordan Clark each potted two, and solo efforts came from Scott Legge, Brad 'The Hamster' Hameister, Tom Ullyett, Gerry Brandt and Reggie Laguerre.

Ben Kielb replied for Kilrich.

Wednesday

Firth 11 Titanium Storage 5

Colin Nash drilled in five to lead Firth in the shootout win. Peter Johnston added a hatty in the win, and Duane Purych, Ryan Martin and Norm Watson each added one.

Kris King, Team CEO Rick Moses, Blaine Demchuk, Tyson Wirth, and Mark Pike (holy moly) tallied for Titanium.

Tim Hortons 4 Air North 3

Two goals by Tim's Chris Nash grounded the fliers. Marcel Barrault and Mark Weaver added the other two. Scott Olafson netted a pair in defeat, and the other came from Dave Bakica.

In league standings, Yukon Inn is still in first with 42 points (20-3-2). Firth is second with 35 points (15-4-5). Kilrich is in third with 27 points (11-8-5).

Firth's red-hot goalscorer, Frank Aucoin, leads the scoring race with 60 points (39G, 21A). The Chest's duo of Shawn Kinsella (28G, 20A) and Kevin Topping (19G, 21A) round out the top three.

EDI's Paul Dainton leads the goalie's in Goals Against Average with a sparkling 2.60 average. The Inn's Glen Traverse is second with a 2.71 GAA. Air North's Floyd McCormick and Firth's Stacey Bowden are tied for third with a 3.24 GAA.

Traverse is still leading in goalie wins with 19. Dainton and Bowden are tied for second with 11 wins each.
