The Junior and Grade 8 volleyball championships

Vanier Catholic Secondary School hosted the boys and girls 2018 Junior Volleyball Championships from November 22-24.

Vanier Catholic Secondary School hosted the boys and girls 2018 Junior Volleyball Championships from November 22-24.

The Porter Creek Rams defeated the F.H. Collins Warriors, whose senior team won the Senior Volleyball Championship, to win gold.

The Watson Lake Bears came in third place.

The junior boys tournament most valuable player was Barret Fuchner.

In junior girls volleyball action, the F.H. Collins Warriors were able to bring the gold medal home, defeating the Vanier Crusaders.

The Porter Creek Rams came in third place. Tournament MVP was Kamrin Williamson.

While the juniors were playing, the Grade 8 teams from across the communities were squaring off at Porter Creek, before the medal games were moved to Vanier on Saturday.

In the boys championship game the Crusaders toppled the Warriors to bring home the gold.

The Robert Service Secondary Knights won the bronze medal game.

The Knights had two teams participating in the Grade 8 girls championship and it was an all Knights, interschool battle for gold. Dawson defeated Dawson 2 in the championship game.

The Vanier Crusaders made it three medals for their school over the weekend as they took the bronze medal match.

The Grade 8 girls tournament MVP was Riley Elliot.
