Seeing The Sunrise

SEEING THE SUNRISE – Athletics Yukon had their Winter Solstice Run Saturday at Grey Mountain. According to AY coach Don White, close to 40 people participated in the five-kilometre run. Instead of a fee, organizers asked for a non-perishable food item or money for the Whitehorse Food Bank. White said a fair amount of money was raised and a truckload was donated. The trails were in good condition with only a few icy spots. ‘It is always amazing seeing the sun come up from the gap over Marsh Lake,’ said White. ‘I don’t know anyone who doesn’t stop to take a look.’
