Firth Rangers forward Mike Rispin scored a goal and picked up two assists as the Firth Rangers upset the second-place Performance Centre Turbos 5-3 in Whitehorse Oldtimer Hockey League action last night.

Firth Rangers forward Mike Rispin scored a goal and picked up two assists as the Firth Rangers upset the second-place Performance Centre Turbos 5-3 in Whitehorse Oldtimer Hockey League action last night.

While Rispin led the way on offence, goaltender Eugene Johnson played a big role late in the game, shutting the door to help his team kill off a 5-on-3 that saw both Rispin and Jenson in the box.

Turbos player Kelly Collins was called for interference a minute later, nullifying the opportunity.

Rispin's three points now give him 59 on the year – 25 goals and 34 assists in 25 games. Currently he ranks second in league scoring behind only Tim Hortons forward Blayne Monahan's 65 points.

The Rangers battled back from a three-goal deficit to win, eventually icing the game on Jeff Jenson's empty-net goal.

Derek Kindervater and Mike Gau also scored for the Rangers.

Jason Freake, Alain Pelletier and Briar Young responded for the Turbos.

Air North 2, Tim Hortons 1

Bill Bohmer's two goals would be all Air North needed to down Tim Hortons 2-1 last night at Takhini Arena.

Brent Stokes scored for fifth-place Tim Hortons in the loss.

AON Flames 4, Tim Hortons 4

With the goalie pulled for an extra attacker, Shawn Kinsella scored a late goal Sunday to draw the Flames to a tie with Tim Hortons.

A goal and two assists from Blayne Monahan had staked Tim Hortons to an early lead, but it wouldn't last.

Peter Johnston, Brent Stokes and Dave Bakica also scored for Tim's, while Rick Smith, Nathan Bingham and Greg Schaffer tallied for the last-place Flames.

Klondyke Dental Molars 3, Kilrich 3

The Molars battled back from a 3-1 deficit to tie Kilrich in Sunday action.

Late goals from Max Dugre-Sasseville and Steve Reynolds knotted the score at 3-all.

Ed Van Randen netted the first goal for Klondyke Dental.

Two goals from Peter Grundmanis and a Tim Turner-Davis snipe provided the offence for Kilrich.

Yukon Inn 3, Air North 0

James Billy stood tall and recorded a shutout Sunday as Yukon Inn continued to hold onto first place in the league standings.

Two goals from Lorne Burnett and another from Warren Kapaniuk would be plenty of offence.

Performance Centre Turbos 7, Medicine Chest 3

In further action Sunday, Daniel Janke scored a hat trick to lead the Turbos over Medicine Chest.

Jason Freake, Daryl Berube and Briar Young each had a goal and assist, and Mike Blower rounded out the scoring in the rout.

Ron Billingsley had a pair for Medicine Chest in the loss, and Mike Jim netted the other.

Tonight's games will see Kilrich face Medicine Chest and Klondyke Dental battle AON.
