Alejandro Pulido had his best game of the year in the Klondike Office Systems net, as he saved over 20 shots to maintain KOS winning run, as they beat Yukoninfo.com 4-3.

The win is the third in a row for the Canaries as they punished any mistake Yukoninfo.com made.

Pulido was in scintillating form, using every part of his body to block any Info shots, while using his pinpoint accuracy with his throws to start new KOS attacks.

Yukoninfo.com welcomed back Matthias Hartman.

He and Golden Boot elect Justin Carre and Adil Khalik could only penetrate the KOS defence once.

KOS Captain Phil Jackson, Michael Mareau and Chris McCuitcheon all picked up a goal apiece to leave the game in the balance with only a minute to go.

Then proving the old adage, hero’s do not need to wear capes, up stepped Graham Sim who found himself in the right place, as he directed his shot in to pick up the spoils for Klondike Office Solutions.

Air North make hard work of seeing off Yukon Brewing

Air North Rangers were not at their dominant best, as they held on to beat Yukon Brewing 3-2 to finish their league campaign at the top of the pile.

The game started smoothly enough for Air North, as Franklin Fru, John Main and Iain Breckenridge all got goals to ease theirselves ahead.

However, for some reason they started to miss passes, drop concentration and generally take their foot off the pedal.

Firstly, Brewing got a penalty when Derric Lewis was adjudged to handle the ball, so Fabian Glyka stepped up to smash the ball home, then Andy Todd got a header to make things close.

You can tell when the pressure is on, as Air North skipper Iain Breckenridge’s head goes from snow white to fiery pink, his team’s defending became evermore desperate as Yukon Brewing surged forward.

However, they say a good team can get a result even if they are not in top form and this was the case for Air North, as they held on to collect three points and leave their fate in other hands.

Rayo settles Chieftian nerves

In a game Chieftain needed to win to maintain their hopes for the league title, Guliano Rayo came to the rescue, scoring three goals as Chieftain beat Driving Force 7-4.

Rayo is a wily old veteran of the league who still scores goals for fun. His goals always came when his Chieftain side needed them most.

Driving Force put in a great shift and were always giving Chieftain problems.

They were never really out of the game until the last few minutes, as they went seeking goals to try and force a result.

Jesse Koeller was always a thorn in the side of Chieftain, as he picked up two goals, and there was a goal each for David Rayo and Val Shapoval.

With the ultimate prize in Yukon soccer up for grabs, the Chieftain boys oiled the machine and came up with goals, with Miles Hume, Matt Larsen, Will Chetcuti and Mark Chandler all scoring to see them home.

On Saturday, Chieftain play Yukoninfo.com at 9:00am. If they win, they take home the championship; a tie or a loss sees Air North victorious.
