The Whitehorse Oldtimers Hockey League is preparing for their annual Oldtimers Tournament this weekend at Takhini Arena.
There are 11 teams vying for the top slot this weekend in the divisions, with three visiting teams, four non-league teams and four league teams.
"It's just a fun thing, and we mix up the guys in the league,” said league president Bernie Adilman. Tossing up the teams gives the regular players the chance to play with new teammates for the weekend. "It's a good kind of mixer.”
The tournament has been running in Whitehorse for decades, Adilman said.
There will be a beer garden for the duration of the tournament in the mezzanine at the arena.
After the tournament, the oldtimers head into their playoffs for the season, starting March 21. Adilman said they could run to April 8.
