Whitehorse's Aramintha ‘Minty’ Bradford had another strong showing on the cross country trails at the 2024 Gangwon Youth Olympics in South Korea today.
Whitehorse's Aramintha ‘Minty’ Bradford had another strong showing on the cross country trails at the 2024 Gangwon Youth Olympics in South Korea today.
In fact, all of the Canadian cross-country skiers had another successful day at the Alpensia Biathlon Centre. Bradford, racing with bib number 1, finished in 16th place out of 78 skiers, while Leanne Gartner (Canmore, Alta.) finished closely behind, ranking 22nd. Cedric Martel (Thunder Bay, Ont.) and Eamon Wilson (Burnaby, B.C) finished 19th and 22nd, out of a field of 78 skiers as well.
In her previous race the day before, the sprint freestyle, in Bradford finished ninth overall.
“It was a really fun race, I had a lot of fun. In the quarterfinal I was able to keep with the pack, in the semis I dropped off, but I didn’t give up and managed to pass one person – so don’t give up," related Bradford.
Cross-country skiing takes a day off Jan. 31 and concludes Feb. 1 (Day 13) with a mixed 4 x 5 km relay.
