After a couple months of training and two tournaments, the Whitehorse Huskies ended their season undefeated.
The Huskies, a hockey team for players who are nine or 10 years old – this year, born in 2006 – was started last season.
Spring hockey tournaments are based on a specific birth year, while minor hockey will include two or three birth years at a time.
Practice starts once the minor hockey season is over.
This year’s Huskies ended the season with a 10-0 record, winning first the Kelowna Heat Blast tournament in May, improving on last year’s third place and last weekend’s Edmonton AAA Spring Classic.
“Our team stuck together when down and played as a team when needed the most,” said coach Derek Johnstone.
“This team has a great bond, which will help every player as they move forward.”
