Here’s to you, Mr. Robinson
Ian Robinson
Ian Robinson has been a legend throughout his career in the over 35ís soccer league. He is noted for having the stamina of a racehorse, and mazy dribbling skills and on Saturday he showed both with a goal thrown in, to help his Yukon Info.com team to a 3-2 win over Yukon Brewing in a tight battle.
In a game in which both teams wanted to register their first points of the season, it was a nervy affair.
Both teams fought hard for possession but lacked the decisive knockout blow to put the game to bed, leaving a furious climax with both teams having the chance to win it.
Robinson was aided by goals from Brian Bruckman and David Strachan, with the prolific Gord Barker and Mark O’Brien scoring for the Brew.
Carre the X Factor
Justin Carre may only be 130 pounds wringing wet, but his performance was heavy with talent as his Tony’s Pizza side eased to a 3-1 win over Pepsi.
Carre helped himself to two goals and was a constant thorn in Pepsi’s side. Geoff “the cat” Woodhouse was largely untroubled in the Tony’s net, as the defensive trifecta of Nathan Bingham, Gohere Hafeez and Gareth Howells closed down the previously unbeaten Pepsi. Andy Todd picked up the other Pizza goal, while Krisztian Goncze got a late consolation.
