Cries of “The NHL does this, why don’t we?” reverberated throughout Takhini Arena during the past few oldtimers evenings, so, sticking with the NHL (and other pro leagues) theme... (Thanks to hockeydb.com for their unknowing assistance).

Sunday

CapriCMW 3 Air North 3

Capri got off the schnide by earning their first point of the season, thanks to a late goal by Arlo Baggs, and Mark Napier potted the other two. The air crew got goals from Ron Ellis, Moose Sage and Eli Hawkins.

Kilrich 3 Medicine Chest 2

Wendel Clark, Pit Martin and Marcel Pronovost tallied for the yellow jackets. Mervyn Dutton and Michel Goulet replied in defeat.

EDI 5 Firth 3

Gus Bodnar scored two late goals to lift EDI to the win. Dustin Penner added a pair and Pat Quinn chipped in one. Firth snipers were Kevin Bieksa with a pair and Levante Kalles.

Tim Hortons 1

Gary Leeman sniped the lone Titanium goal, and Bernie Federko swatted home a rebound for Tims to account for all the scoring.

Thursday

Kilrich 6 Titanium Storage 3

Wendel Clark was in on all six Kilrich goals (three and three), Dorian Kielbasa nailed a couple, and Marcel Pronovost added one. For the Titans, it was Owen Palfreyman, Austin Bevilacqua and Jeb Dee.

Tim Hortons 5 CapriCMW 2

Terry Harper continued his tear with two biscuits for Tims, and Bernie Federko, Chris Nilan and Tim Horton-Davis added one cookie apiece. Anthony Bitteto and Arlo Baggs connected for Capri.

Wednesday

EDI 6 Medicine Chest 3

Dustin Penner netted a hat trick, including one goal right off a faceoff, to pace EDI. Gus Bodnar added a pair and Gerry Rivet added a single. For the medicine men it was Lanny MacDonald with two, and Callum Gau with a single.

Yukon Inn 6 Air North 2

Adrian Aucoin served up three tallies for the Inn, Brad May chipped in a pair, and Sean Avery muscled in the other. Air North was piloted by Ed van Riemsdyk and Tony Currie.

Tims (minus Bernie Federko) leads the standings with 17 points (7-1-3).

Dustin Heffner (18 goals, 7 apples) leads the scoring spree with 25 points.

Paul Dainton continues his stranglehold in Goals Against Average (1.50). He’s tied with Kilrich’s Jim Antonisson with six wins apiece.
