Air North are putting in some good efforts as the season is coming to an end, which makes them a dark horse for a good playoff run.

Iain Breckenridge’s men are always well organised, and when they have their players available they look a different proposition.

On Saturday they eased aside a Chieftain side 4-2 who is looking forward to the end of the season.

It’s been a baptism of fire for freshman skipper Kruno Kunovic, as injuries and absentism have decimated their plans.

For Air North, Carlos Astorquiza grabbed a couple of goals, as did Justin Carre who although injured, and holding his ribs a la Pele in the movie Escape to Victory, was able to maintain his phenomenal scoring rate.

Ash Jordan and Mike Zuccarini did put Chieftain on the board with a goal apiece, but it was never going to be enough.

McCutheon saves the day

Chris McCutheon was the saviour Driving Force were looking for, as his winner deep into injury time was enough for his team to win the game, and remain favourites to win the league.

Yukon Brewing were looking to upset their rivals and played a smart intelligent game almost until to the last minute, but due to tiredness or the prospect of scoring another goal left a gaping hole in their defence.

A man as skilled and nimble as McCutcheon will always be able to capitalize on an opportunity like this and his strike earned his team a precious three points.

For Yukon Brewing it was a cruel way to lose, as they had worked so hard for so long.

The Brew were missing a lot of players due to their participation in MMA this week, but battled hard to put them in position to win the game, with goals from Michael Bores and goal machine Joel Pushparaj.

Driving Force were thankful to Sandy Gross and Jesse Koeller for their goals to keep them in the game.

When McCutcheon wheeled away celebrating his goal, the referee blew his whistle to end an absorbing game, leaving the Force 3-2 winners.

Pepsi see off KOS

Pepsi were far too good for Klondike Office Solutions as they ran in six goals for a 6-3 win

KOS had a dream start to the game as Mark Chandler scored the first of his two goals in less than 10 seconds.

However it didn’t take long for Pepsi to equilize and keep the pressure on the opposition.

The dream team of Jon Hawkins and Franklin Fru started to make inroads into the KOS defence and a sumpuous pass from Hawkins to Fru was a perfect example of the symbiotic relationship the two have.

The game was close when substitute player, Kruno Kunovic, scored the third goal for KOS to level matters.

But after that it was really one- way traffic, as Pepsi scored regular goals, with a classic from legend Adil Khalik, the pick of the bunch, as he honed his inner Danny Macdonald to score.

Fru ended up with two goals and there was a goal each from Shawn Fearon, Jose Farias and David Rayo.

The win for Pepsi means that three teams can now win the league. However, if Driving Force wins their last game they take the title, but any slip up will allow Klondike Office Solutions or Pepsi to move into first place.
