Tawni Mai Cynthia Wood–Jones

January 28, 1982 – October 13, 2023

Sadly, at the age of 41 Tawni passed away suddenly. She is survived by her husband Josh, her mother Tammy, her sisters Jade (Anel) and Shai (Dave). Tawni was predeceased by her father Jeff, grandparents Roger, Elery, and Shirley.

Tawni was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba. She then moved to Winnipeg and then to Headingley which was her home growing up. In December 2021 Tawni & Josh moved to Whitehorse, Yukon.

Cambrian Blasting was always considered a family business which Tawni and her sisters were always a part of, whether it was drilling, operating heavy equipment, blasting, or even helping to do estimates driving down the road to the next job. In Whitehorse, Tawni worked for General Enterprises as the Batcher. With Tawni treating every job as being part of a family business soon showed them her dedication, abilities as a batcher, and her willingness to help wherever needed whether clearing snow, jumping on a loader, or helping in the office with paperwork. Doug & Brenda not only took her in as an employee but also part of their Whitehorse family.

Most times running into Tawni she would be wearing one of her toques with the most incredible smile & dimples that always gave a person inspiration to have a great day!

Tawni enjoyed snowboarding, sledding, baseball, fishing, camping, and family time. She also really enjoyed traveling with the family to tropical destinations on adventures.

There will be a Meet & Greet Celebration of Life Friday,
October 27th 3:00-4:30 p.m.
Calvary Baptist Church, 1301 Fir Street
