Norman Cook Webster
.
Sad to convey Norman Cook Webster passed away March 5, 2024 from natural causes.
In 1985, I dragged him to Yukon by bus over Christmas. When it was time to go back to Calgary, he said, “send my mattress, I’m staying.”
He fell in love with the scenery but also the hospitality and kindness of Yukoners. He eventually got into mushing while at his “Deep Creek Manor,” thriving despite his long standing physical injuries. He developed several deep friendships and enjoyed his golden years.
Thank you Whistle Bend Place staff.
He is survived by his eldest son Stephen, son Michael, grandsons Brendan and Andrew, great-grandsons James and Sean. His words “Where there’s a will there’s a way” and “where there’s a Webster there is a choice,” is wisdom family now use.
Miss you Dad, let’s keep talking, love you,
Stephen

You were my mentor and for a time my best friend. Teaching me many "Websterisms" and ethics: "You got a Scots tongue in your head. Use it" , "If you do something good, don't gloat but be satisfied. If you made a mistake, be the first to admit it." "Don't get married until you're 40. And after that forget it." "The sun will shine again." Your humor was awesome. Thanks for letting me know the part in the bible missing like when Jesus said let him who has not sinned cast the first stone & when the rock hit the women He said, "ah mom, not you again!" Rest in Peace Dad.
