Maxine Van Wyk

June 18, 1937 - April 22, 2023

Maxine Van Wyk of Whitehorse passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of April 22, 2023, at the age of 85. 
 Maxine was predeceased by her husband Robert Van Wyk, daughter Dawn Ford, sister Evelyn, brother Dean and her parents Ruth and Hulbert Orser. 
 Maxine is survived by her son Randall (Heidi), daughter Gayle (Randall) and step-daughters Roberta (Phil) and Roxanne (Ken), seven grandchildren Alexander, Corrine, Emma, Niina, Elisa, Jeffrey, Connor, one great-grandson Ceth and special friends Bruce, Marsha and Phoenix.
Maxine was born in Edmonton, Alberta on June 18, 1937.

In 1976 she moved to Whitehorse to be with her soulmate and future husband Robert Van Wyk. Maxine became a Goldsmith and worked at Murdoch’s Gem Shop for many years until her retirement.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the staff and caregivers at Whistle Bend Place for taking such good care of our mom over the past few years.
In keeping with Maxine’s wishes the family will hold a private celebration of life at a later date.
