In Loving Memory of Cary Edward Arthur Bailie
January 9,1940 - February 1, 2023
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Cary Bailie to the Spirit world. He lived a good life that was full of love, adventure and appreciation of all things on the Earth.
Cary was predeceased by his father Ted Bailie; mother Violet Bailie; sisters Diane and Bonnie; wife Meta Bailie; son Darcy Bailie; daughter-in-law Jolie McNabb and granddaughter Stacity Bailie.
He is survived by his son Gary Bailie, daughters Talitha Bailie, Tina Bailie; grandsons Montana, Christopher, Jonas and Jesse; granddaughters Paris, Maraya, Denise, Meghan, Kluane, and great-granddaughter Essence.
Dad spent his working career with the Department of Public Works on the Alaska Highway and the Shakwak project on the Haines road. He retired and lived in Atlin for many years before returning to Whitehorse and living close to his family for his final years.
He travelled extensively throughout the world, pursuing his passion of photography and loved to spend time gardening, boating and camping on Atlin lake with family and friends.
He possessed a great sense of humour and an accurate memory of many stories and adventures. He will always be remembered for his kind and caring ways.
At his request, Dad will be cremated and there will be no service. He did ask that all people who knew him, to have a really good dinner with their loved ones and to drink the best wine.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Yukon Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Rest Easy Dad, you left the Earth a better place for having been here.
