Gail Hendley
October 16, 1943 - January 7, 2024
Gail Mawer was born in Welland, Ontario. She married the love of her life, John Hendley in 1965. The following year they moved north, to Ross River, YT. Gail was the first school teacher, and her husband the first school principal.
In 1969 they moved to Faro, opening a new Gas Station. In 1974 they purchased the Little Salmon Lodge. They lived there until deciding to venture further north, to Dawson city in 1985.
During her time in Dawson City, Gail worked operating Bed and Breakfasts.
Eventually she and John built the Bonanza Gold Motel and R.V Park. They spent the remainder of their working years operating this business together.
In 2019 Gail was diagnosed with advanced Alzheimer's disease. She spent her final years being cared for at Copper Ridge Place, in Whitehorse Yukon.
Gail is survived by her sister Dawn, brother Glenn, and her husband of 61 years; John Hendley.

Working down in Dawson back in the ‘90s, I’d always make a point at staying at White Ram B&B. Gail’s enormous hospitality always made the stays so enjoyable.
Deepest sympathies to John and the family.
