Cheryl Lee Wilson

April 9, 1980 - February 13, 2022

It is with great sadness that the family and friends of Cheryl Lee Wilson announce her passing on February 13, 2022, at the age of 41.

Cheryl was born in Hay River, Northwest Territories to Lorraine and Randall Wilson. In 1984, the family moved to Whitehorse, Yukon. She attended school at F.H. Collins Secondary School where she graduated in 1998. Later, she attended Yukon College.

On September 27, 2008, Cheryl gave birth to her son Liam Daniel Saunders, who she loved dearly.

Cheryl was not only bright, but she was also a caring and hardworking soul. This was evident in the volunteering and her work ethic. She was proud of being a hard worker, and it showed. For many of those that knew her, this was the first quality they would recall about her, in addition to her radiant smile. She held many positions in different places including Yukon College, Walmart, and Whitehorse General Hospital as a custodian.

Cheryl had many other passions as well. She was very involved in fitness. She loved to work out at the gym, as well as to go out for a walk or a jog. She even took part in the Skagway to Whitehorse relays.

She had a great fondness for music as well. Her favourite singers were Mariah Carey and Adele.

Cheryl is survived by her son Liam Daniel Saunders; parents, Lorraine and Randall Wilson; siblings Jennifer, Curtis and Jessica; as well as many more family and friends.

Cheryl’s loved ones wish to extend a thank you to the staff of Wind River House for taking such good care of her.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on February 24, 2022, at Grey Mountain Cemetery.

Whenever you think of pink and roses think of Cheryl, her favourite colour and flower.

My condolences to the family. I remember Cheryl when she attended F.H. Collins. She always had a sparkle in her eyes and a huge smile on her face when she stopped by my office. May you always be surrounded by a field of pink flowers. Taken far too young.
