By Whitehorse Star on November 2, 2021

Dr. Catherine Elliott, the acting chief medical officer of health, reported 23 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 late Monday afternoon.

The cases were recorded from noon last Friday through noon Monday. The number of active cases at that point was 68.

Twenty-two of the people affected are Whitehorse residents, while one is a resident of Carmacks.

People from out of the territory who are diagnosed in the Yukon are counted in the territory’s active case count but not in the Yukon’s total case count, as they are counted in their home jurisdiction.

The total number of confirmed cases in Yukon residents since March 2020 is 944.

Since March 2020, 874 people have recovered, while 10 have died.

The latest public exposure notices are:

• Canada Games Centre – Family Pucks and Sticks, Northwestel Ice, Oct. 24, 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Anyone at this location during this time should self-monitor for symptoms until Nov. 7, and get tested if they develop any symptoms.

• Canada Games Centre – Wellness Centre, Oct. 26, 10 a.m. to noon.

Anyone at this location during this time should self-monitor for symptoms until Nov. 9, and get tested if they develop any symptoms.

• École Émilie-Tremblay, Grade 6 (this is not the 5/6 split class), Oct. 25 and Oct. 27.

Affected are students and staff who attended or worked in the class.

• Holy Family Elementary School, Grade 3, Oct. 26-28.

Students and staff who attended or worked in this class are affected.

Yukon Communicable Disease Control has directly advised everyone involved at the two schools with a notification letter.

Elliott, meanwhile, continues to remind everyone who has symptoms to get tested.

Anyone experiencing symptoms in Whitehorse should call the COVID-19 Testing and Assessment Centre at 393-3083 or book online to arrange for testing.

People in communities should contact their rural community health centre.

Yukoners are also reminded that the best way to protect themselves and the people around them is to get fully vaccinated.

“COVID-19 and its variants spread easily,” Elliott’s office said in a statement.

“People can pass infection on even if they do not have any symptoms. Everyone aged 12 and older can get vaccinated in the Yukon.”

If it were up to me... on Nov 3, 2021 at 9:50 pm

Is it just me or does “Dr.” Elliot look like a terrorized cupie doll who is being pushed all the way? ‘I was just following orders’ never cut it before and it won’t now. Would NOT want to be in her shoes.

Why must we get vaccinated? Well, according to a retired California nurse, "The protected need to be protected from the unprotected by forcing the unprotected to take the protection that didn't protect the protected in the first place.

@Pat
My medicine doesn't work unless you take yours too.

I can't believe the selfishness of the provax people expecting everyone else to keep them healthy. It's your health, it's your body it's up to you to protect it no one else. Stay home if you are sick, eat healthy and exercise, but don't expect me to take a chemical cocktail for you. The government, business and you have no right to know my medical history.

List of questions for CMOH for her next covid update:
1. How many breakthrough cases have there been?
2. What is the average age and number of co morbidities of the 10 deaths in the territory of people who had covid and died?
3. What are the 1 and 5 yr implications on blood clotting/stroke/heart conditions of 2 doses, multiple doses, and mixed brand doses. These data would be important to present with your mandates and assurance of efficacy and safety.
4. How many Yukoners who have recovered from natural infection have been reinfected?
5. How will firing unvaccinated health workers produce better outcomes for the health system and it's patients?
6. Why are you prescribing a single antidote to the disease (vaccine), when the disease has vastly different consequences for older/unhealthy population?
7. I have recently recovered from COVID, and completed isolation. In the conversations with health officials and nurses, no information was given in terms of care and treatment, only questions on symptoms and contacts. How have treatment protocols adapted in the last 18 months in the Yukon?
8. What percentage of Yukoners and Canadians recover from COVID infection?
9. How many cases have been counted in Yukon children and youth?
10. How many Yukoners stand to lose their employment and access to many other private and public amenities that they have helped to build and maintain?

The old adage of the cure being worse than the disease is almost certainly true in the Yukon.

Thank you to all Yukoners for continuing to see your neighbors as your friends, instead of discrimination based on medical choice as purported by the governments all around us.

Oh snap, how many have 2 shots of the experimental mRNA? 2 months ago you kept on blaming unvaxxed and it seemed easy for you to do so.. Now lay the facts out, just because it doesn't fit your narrative doesn't mean you shouldn't tell people the truth..

They are now advertising across the country that "children have strokes too, know the warning signs". Get ready to Vax your children folks. It truly is going to be a dark winter.

Why are the countries with the highest Vax rates crippled with covid? Why do these same countries have an explosion in heart attacks, strokes and blood clots? Why are all the "experts" connected to big pharma? Why is the media not asking these important questions?

So the Yukon is over 80% vaccinated. It's obvious that it does not work and yet we have mandates. It's time to follow the money.

Give all the facts on Nov 3, 2021 at 6:57 am

Since most of the exposure notices are schools of young children, yes, I’m going to say they are unvaccinated. This is not ok to try to push the vaccination on unvaccinated adults as its not them getting sick.

I wish ALL facts were released and not just the fear mongering ones.

At least 18 of the new cases are from one adult hockey team. All vaccinated. If they insist on the constant “cases” updates then it’s time we start seeing some real data.

So I guess the Vax is 100% effective at stopping what?

If you prefer to get covid and use your body to develop an immune response, what is the quickest way to get exposure to covid?

Were these folks vaccinated, in what age category, and what's the severity of their symptoms?
