ATCO Electric Yukon had to cut power to about 500 customers downtown
ATCO Electric Yukon had to cut power to about 500 customers downtown at around 3:45 Monday afternoon after a truck hit a pole at the corner of Sixth Avenue and Jeckell Street.
The severed pole had to be replaced, making for an extended outage for some customers on a cold afternoon.
While power was restored to 300 buildings within five minutes, it would be about an hour after that before another 150 customers were back online.
The remaining 50 customers had their power restored at around 8 p.m.
