Whitehorse RCMP are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian that took place on Second Avenue at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday.

Whitehorse RCMP are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian that took place on Second Avenue at 9:10 a.m. Tuesday.

“Police want to speak with any witnesses to this incident, or anyone with dashcam footage showing this collision,” they said Tuesday afternoon.

The mishap between the pedestrian and a vehicle occurred near Ogilvie Street.

Officers attended with Yukon Emergency Medical Services, the Whitehorse Fire Department and Whitehorse Bylaw Services.

“The pedestrian was injured and transported to hospital for assessment and treatment,” police said.

“Police will not share further details on their identity or injuries. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, though drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

“There were a significant number of people in the area who may have witnessed this incident.”

Anyone who has not yet spoken with police about the incident is encouraged to reach out to the RCMP at 667-5555.

“Police appreciated those who stayed on scene to report this collision, and those who took alternate routes while Second Ave. was closed as part of the investigation,” police said.

I understand this lady has been sent to Vancouver hospital, and a go fund me page has been organized. I want to help her, but I can't find information. If anyone can advice without breaking confidentiality policy..please do.. maybe you can say the name of a contact?
