Whitehorse writer Peter Jickling will launch his new book, I Believe This is Not the End, on Sunday evening at the Woodcutter’s Blanket on Second Avenue.
The short essays tackle everything from coffee mugs to cannibalism with humour, heart, and an eye for the absurd.
Jickling’s play, Syphilis: A Love Story, premiered in 2011 and toured in western Canada, winning Best Comedy at the 2013 Victoria Fringe Festival.
His debut poetry collection, Downtown Flirt, was published in 2019.
Jickling guides readers through an amusement park of a fresh perspective and pop philosophy.
“I’m excited that this collection is finally being released,” said Jickling.
“Though these columns were written some years ago, their subject matter still resonates today.”
Sunday’s book launch will begin at 7 p.m., with a short reading at 7:30 and “continued festivities” until 10 p.m.
