SECURITY TIGHTENS – A security guard is seen late this morning at the main entrance to Whitehorse General Hospital directing people to the emergency entrance.

According to James Low, a spokesperson for the hospital, the changes are due to a threat being received.
“We are aware of a significant and credible threat from an individual directed at specific hospital employees,” he told the Star in an email.
“We treat all threats as serious, and based on what we know, have taken some steps to further secure the hospital building, while maintaining access to hospital services for the general public. RCMP have been informed.
“At this time, we have no information or reason to believe the threat extends to any individual or organization outside of the WGH,” Low said. “I cannot comment further on the situation.”
The RCMP were contacted by the Star about the situation, but there was no response by press time this afternoon.

I have always received top notch service at the hospital, more recently at the emergency entrance. Hospital staff do a fantastic job, and really good customer relations.

No one is being protected when the folks the Hospital Corp hires gets paid in green stamps, they aren’t physically fit and never been trained.
You could drive a bus thru WGH and nothing would happen. One security guard on night shift won’t stop anything.
Regarding the welfare of patients or hospital staff - again who is going to provide that level of safety. If Doctors and nurses are concerned then do something about it.

I have nothing but praise for each and every employee of the Yukon Hospital Corporation. My age-related situation is causing me to experience more of the wonderful people who work there and I believe Yukoners are fortunate to have such people available to help with our needs. I support greater security for the staff at WGH and fitting punishments for those who disrupt or threaten their good work, regardless of their heritage and sobriety.

Welcome to dictatorship, as first nation l've been under a dictatorship all my life, it doesn't feel good, does it? Under the federal system and yet we have mega amounts of money we can't even access but are being distributed by domineering agencies.it doesn't matter who is in power, liberals, conservatives, NDP.

The liberal majority has won every election of any importance over the last few years. I don't see that changing anytime soon. Elections will unfold pretty much as you see them now, people are either on one side or the other.
The thing that scares me with groups like the so called freedom group and their supporters is that they resort to intimidation, what would happen if these groups gained power, then you would see true infringements on your rights. Speaking of which I never felt so infringed upon as during the last few years of Harper.

Why aren't the wing nuts camping at Silver's office? I know it's the hospital, and blah blah.. but, at the end of the day, it is the Liberal policies that are encouraging mental ill health, drugs, drinking, family violence. All of which has greatly accelerated under the Liberal rule. IF i were a Liberal, I would be taking a good look at what your leadership and done, and is doing. Wake the hell up, and make your leaders accountable.. or kick them to the curb, lest, you wake up later and find there is no more Liberal party. Same for the NDP. Stand for something, or fall for anything.

There are many reasons why a person might be legitimately angry at hospital policies or how they or their loved ones were handled (mishandled) by hospital staff.
I've experienced first hand the contempt that some hospital employees and doctors have towards the "unvaxxed" -- both towards patients and visitors and family supports. It is incredibly sad, demoralizing and frustrating to experience.
Like them, you choose to label anyone who opposes the current tyranny in Canada as "alt right nut jobs spewing covid conspiracies." Apparently, ordinary Canadians deserve to be treated like garbage because they don't have the "correct" beliefs.
Too bad you can't see beyond the propaganda and hate.

At You Con Liberals - It is more likely that some Liberal was forced to consider reason and logic as the proper basis for decision making and short-circuited their frontal lobes and snapped. Because the Liberal could not get what s/he/they wanted they resorted to violence and threats of violence - Just like Silver, Hanley, and Trudeau.
