Food For Fines is extended

The season’s Food For Fines Program has been extended by an additional week, and the limit has been increased from $10,000 to $12,000.
Council voted at its meeting Monday to adopt the program, which allows those with parking tickets or two-hour parking infractions to donate food instead of paying cash.
The food is then given to Kaushee’s Place, the Whitehorse Food Bank and the Skookum Jim Friendship Centre.
“To better serve the community and at the request of one of the proposed recipients, administration is proposing to expand the program’s duration by an additional week,” reads the administrative report prepared for council.
“Through committee discussion, committee members expressed concern with the identified grant amount.
“Given that there is an additional week added to the timeline and an additional agency included in the program, committee members were interested in increasing the historical grant maximum.”
The program runs from Nov. 26 to Dec. 10, with Dec. 14 set as the deadline for individuals to donate food instead of paying the fine.

I got ticketed for being parked in front of my residence. We don't have a driveway. Thanks officer, I won't be shoveling the sidewalks in front of my house anymore.

With the Liberal Taxation Inflation Nation killing the country you will have to increase the parking fines substantially to feed those increasing numbers of people who need to be fed.
