The ripples from Monday morning’s official resignation of federal Green Party Leader Annamie Paul has extended to the Yukon.
The ripples from Monday morning’s official resignation of federal Green Party Leader Annamie Paul has extended to the Yukon.
“I am disappointed but not surprised by the resignation,” said Lenore Morris, the party’s candidate in the territory for the Sept. 20 election and a member of the local party excutive.
“There were a number of people within the party requesting a leadership review prior to election, and the poor election result made Ms. Paul’s departure, one way or another, very likely,” Morris said.
“Ms. Paul is an intelligent, articulate strong woman,” Morris added.
“She believes that some of her difficulties as leader were the result of racism. I do not doubt this. I do not think that racism is a Green Party problem, though I know it is a Canadian problem.”
Morris added, “I hope the next leader will be more successful in uniting party membership, allowing us to return our focus to the important issues for Canadians, in particular environmental and social justice issues.
“I am confident there will continue to be an important role for the Green Party of Canada in Canadian politics.”
Paul said Monday she will vacate the leadership in a couple of weeks.

Not Surprised: "as the west burns and places like the Yukon flood". Has it ever occurred to you that maybe its a lack of carbon (dioxide), that is causing these problems? I learned in grade school science class many years ago that carbon dioxide feeds vegetation so vegetation can give off oxygen that all living things feed off of. Without oxygen, guess were we would be? Oh and notice how these scammer "climate change" gurus leave off the word "dioxide" to fool the people? How easy people are fooled.

Save your breath. The Greens, in the party, or not, are all inexorable.
When Al Gore published "An Inconvenient Truth" I was right in there with the rest, marching, screaming, ozone, leave my trees alone. And, we did all but shut down the lumber industry. Plastic replaced many, many products that had hitherto before been produced from wood/wood by products. What a surprise to learn that the ozone layer hole was caused by a deep sea volcano eruption. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1352231015304246

https://cei.org/blog/wrong-again-50-years-of-failed-eco-pocalyptic-predictions/ I can post hundreds and hundreds of these URLs. Not one of Al Gore's prophesies/ and predictions came about. But, because he sunk so much money in to non meat foods, and failed to convince most people that cow farts were bad, and lost a lot of the 214 million he made off "An Inconvenient Truth", he dug up that dead horse in 2017 and beat it again.
Most people are smarter than to buy in to "Green" horse **** and go with stock advice, everything in moderation. And continue on with their families and daily life. Some become fanatics, who end up saying.. people are so stupid.. we are doomed if we don't give all our money into taxes to fight this. That is why the Green movement will always be last, or zero. They can't be reasonable.
One really good thing came of the ozone movement. I'm allergic to hair sprays, and the world's leaders banned the use of aerosol spray propellants. I think enough of it would harm the environment, too much of anything will harm something. Though, i see aerosol sprays back on the shelves again. I'll have to look into that. They were banned by the Geneva Convention.

There is only one race: the human race. Those who insist on dividing humanity into races would not be content if there was only one "colour" in a country: they would be determined to find some way to divide it, if only by eye colour or which part of Europe your ancestry is. Racism is the desire to resist the truth that we are all one race, having a common origin, whether that origin is a few hominids in Africa, or is Adam and Eve.

Horrible results yet still allowed to participate in federal debates.. yet PPC were not allowed.. if this election has taught us anything it's the fact there are NO clear differences in Libs and Cons..

I think the whole Green Party thing has run it’s course. They were a one trick pony.
The LPC and NDP make addressing climate change a priority. The Luddites in CPC are still grappling with if climate change is real as the west burns and places like the Yukon flood. The Greens helped to raise awareness, perhaps they can do more from outside the political arena.

What will the Green Party ever achieve except to take votes from the other 3 parties. They will never be in power

As long as the Canadian demographic remains what it has been since inception, minority leaders of Federal parties will find it very difficult to form government. Sad but true.

"I do not think that racism is a Green Party problem, though I know it is a Canadian problem.” How nice. How does that make white Canadians who founded this nation feel? Canada now has every race on the planet. Does all Black African countries have racism? Does all yellow China have racism? Does all brown India and middle eastern countries have racism? Does all yellow Japan have racism? Maybe if Canada was all white, there would be no racism here. And Ms Paul, what race is the racists in Canada. Notice these lefty accusers never say, but know in their hearts it has to be coming from the white race. Well, mam, as a white, if it's in your opinion I am a racist, then leave me alone. If you want a race free country, perhaps you might want to emigrate to an all black country. As for me, I'm staying in the country of my birth. So, live with that and don't keep reminding me of being a racist. Especially with no evidence.

Green Party is a fringe party that does not have a platform of interest to voters. The real truth is out on climate change has been around since the earth was created. Carbon is not problem in Canada but some parts of the world it is like Asian and Russia areas. O'Toole did not follow through on what he said he'd do and that is remove carbon tax which just a cash grab from voters.

Paul finishing a dismal 4th out of 4 candidates in her federal riding didn’t help her dysfunctional leadership performance any.

I think Ms Paul did not have a good understanding of how political parties work. When elected to the leadership, she thought that she would rule the roost, that the party would follow her directions. When faced with the reality that it is party executive who determine the path, and that leaders are the party image but do not necessarily know how to get elected, she refused to bend. The result was that the party did poorly.
