Whitehorse bylaw officials are investigating a dog attack in the Copper Ridge area last week.

According to city spokesperson Oshea Jephson, “On October 7, City of Whitehorse Bylaw Services received a report of a dog versus dog attack in Copper Ridge.

“The incident happened after a dog was able to break free from a property and attack another animal, whose owner was injured after they tried to protect their dog.”

Jephson added that “Bylaw Services attended the scene and all those involved were co-operative. The animal was surrendered and the incident is still under investigation.”

Muriel Chalifoux posted about the incident on Facebook last weekend.

“So on Saturday my 8 month old Brittany Spaniel and I were attacked by another dog on Falcon. I want to thank the people that stopped to assist!

“One guy helped subdue the at-tacking dog and a lady made sure that I was okay and helped me and my dog get into another person’s truck and get the heck out of there. We both required medical attention and stitches but are on the mend!”

Numerous people commented on the incident on social media.

Nichole Ashley wrote, “That’s horrifying. There seems to be a rise in dog attacks in the area.”

Always carry bear spray on walks, it can help in many situations.

Is the canine out on bail, released with promise to appear, have considerations been factored into puppyhood trauma, is punishment breed specific with COW equity policies?
Perhaps a hate bark, that provoked the attack?
Perhaps the attacker was transitioning, in which case all behaviour is to be completely overlooked, violence tolerable.
Did the brittany identify at the time, as a cat, perhaps a squirrel?

If this reads ridiculous, I essentially just described our absolutely broken Canadian “Justice System”...which is even more ridiculous!

“Nichole Ashley wrote, “That’s horrifying. There seems to be a rise in dog attacks in the area”.
It seems you do not know the meaning of horrifying, but good for you...because “you wrote”...and your virtue was recognized.

There does not seem to be a rise in cognitive dissonance in our society, there is one.
