Latest website updates

A heartfelt thanks to everyone who has taken the time to comment on our new website.

We’ve received excellent feedback and have already made several changes to the site, including updates to the comment system, RSS feeds and overall appearance. Less visible changes are the tweaks we’ve made under the hood to make the website load faster.

More archives
Over the past few weeks, stories from 2005 and 2006 have been added to our archive database. We are on track to import 2004 all the way back to 1998; a task to be handled during the month of February.

Most commented
You’ll find a new feature on both our homepage and individual archives for News, Sports, Letters and Opinions: a widget displaying links to stories with the most number of comments. The widget is also an easy way to keep tabs on what stories are most popular.

Coming soon
We are currently working on more features including the return of Pet of the Week, an enhanced search engine and a few other interesting ideas that we unfortunately can’t talk about yet. Soon, we promise.
