Oilers win in a shootout in the recreational hockey league
A shootout was needed to decide a winner between the Envirolube Oilers and Yukon Inn on Sunday in the 'B' Division of the Whitehorse Recreational Hockey League.

Geordan Read scored the winning goal for the Oilers in the shootout
Envirolube Oilers 5, Yukon Inn 4
Al Hansen led the way in points for the Oilers, scoring one goal and adding one assist, while Peter Mostyn and Graham Van Tighem also scored once.
Richard Niman scored the team’s only other shootout goal in win.
Adam George played very well for Yukon Inn, scoring one goal and contributing one assist, while Simon Sheridan and Lars Jessup each scored once.
Will Beckett scored the team’s lone shootout goal.
Kluane Drillers 6, U Brew Bruins 4
Rob Pitzel played an outstanding game for the Drillers, scoring a hat trick and adding one assist, while Tyler Murray also played very well, finishing with one goal and three assists.
Other goal scorers on the team were Tim Carroll and Braeden Thompson, while Doug Roberts finished with three assists in the victory.
Boston Pizza/Yukon Rad 7, Cinderwood 6
Derek Johnstone showed off his offensive talent for Boston Pizza, scoring five goals and adding two assists, while Lance Brown also played a great game, finishing with one goal and three assists.
Dean Mastrangelo scored once and added two assists in the victory.
Mike Gabor played very well for Cinderwood in the loss, scoring two goals and adding one assist, while Martin Lawrie and Mike L’Henaff each scored twice.
Other notables on the team include Randy Merkel, who finished with four assists, while Frank Aucoin contributed three assists.
