Southern Lakes Yard Support edge Assante 3-2 in soccer match

Southern Lakes Yard Support began the U-13 soccer season on the right foot with a victory over Assante Financial on Thursday.
The Southern Lakes squad were up 3-0 prior to a late charge by the financial crew.
The first half witnessed SLYS with constant pressure, but Assante goalie Travis Banks held the fort, making several key saves.
Heather Clarke scored the opening goal for Southern Lakes, while Colin Kabanak made it 2-0.

Kabanak added one more goal before Assante mounted some offense of their own.
The goal scorers for Assante were Raymond Emsley and Mathew McArthy.  Logan Frasher was named as the MVP for Southern Lakes, while Sadie Whitelaw was named for Assante Financial.

Wintemute Electric 6, Whitehorse Star 1
Tyrell Hope and Willie Oulton, who was also named team MVP, each notched a pair of goals for Wintemute Electric in their season opening soccer match against the Whitehorse Star.
The other goal scorers on the team were Mike Wintemute and Deanna Klubi.
Graham Mainer-Pearson scored the lone goal for the Whitehorse Star, while Jeni Pierce was named as MVP.

Physio Plus 6, Re/Max 2
Tyler Koenen and Youje Blackburn scored the majority of the goals for Physio Plus, each adding two in the victory.
Christina Anderson and Scott Pederson added the remaining two goals for the team, while Callahan Guidolin was named as MVP.
Luke Landero and Stacey Macklon were the lone goal scorers for Re/Max, while Gage Preece was named as MVP.

U-16 Soccer League: May 7

High Calibre Contracting 4, Alpine Bakery 3
Balanced scoring was crucial for High Calibre Contracting with four different players on the team contributing to the offensive output in the win.
The team’s goal scorers were Michael Hare, Adrian Hawkings, Shannon Thompson and Belgie Nunez Zuniyu, while Reanna Lemoine was named as the team’s MVP. 
The goal scorers on Alpine Bakery were Dakota Couch, Owen Hedstrom-Langford and Felix Bouchard, while the team’s MVP was Fatima Javed, who despite the loss, hustled and made a number of key stops throughout the course of the game.

Mic Mac Toyota 2, Pine Plumbing 1
Jesse Latoski carried the offensive production for Mic Mac Toyota, scoring both goals for the team in the victory.

Mic Mac’s MVP was Marissa Morin-Perreault,
Pine Plumbing lone goal scorer was Alex Ordonez , while Anna Smith was named as MVP.

Bumper to Bumper 3, Dave’s Cleaning 2
Balance scoring highlighted Bumper to Bumper’s win the U-16 soccer league.

The team had three goal scores, which included Kelsey Smeeton, Trevor Hannah and Theoren Richards. Bumper to Bumper’s MVP was Twigg Stimson.
Ian Wintemute and Cole Pereria scored the lone two goals for Dave’s

Cleaning, while Katie Lowey was named as the team’s MVP.
