For the second straight year, the territory failed to make the grade in TSN’s Kraft Project Play contest.

Three local projects had entered the annual contest that sees the winner taking home $250,000 towards a recreational facility upgrade.

Projects included the Burwash Landing recreational facilities, Old Crow’s multi-purpose park and the soccer fields at Porter Creek Secondary School.

The top four projects are Swilers Rugby Club in St. Johns, N.L., White Oaks Park in London, Ont., Portlock Park in Salt Spring Island, B.C., and Munro Park in Sydney, N.S.

After two days of voting Aug. 17 and 18, the grand prize winner will be unveiled Aug. 21, with semifinalists taking home $25,000 each.

The Yukon also failed to make the grade in last year’s Kraft Celebration Tour contest, despite having five nominated projects.
