Unbeaten Kilrich stays hot with 5-2 victory

Five different players scored as Kilrich downed Yukon Inn 5-2 last night to pick up their 12th win on the oldtimer hockey season.

Trevor Hale, Lorne Burnett, Doug Janzen, Brian Currie and George Harvey all lit the lamp for the only unbeaten oldtimer team, while Colin Nash had three assists.

Bruce Williams and Adam Green were the only Yukon Inn players able to get pucks past Kilrich goalkeeper Jeff Kalles in the loss.

Kilrich’s early-season record is now at 12-0-2.

In other action last night at Takhini Arena, Air North edged EDI 4-3 thanks with Kevin Neufeld providing the game-winner in the second period.

Ron Sumanik had Air North’s first two goals while Warren Kapaniuk added a single.

Mark Pike scored a pair and Pat Tobler rounded out the scoring for EDI in the loss.

On Sunday, Yukon Inn defeated Medicine Chest 7-5 thanks to a five-goal performance from Adam Green, while the Air North Jets edged the AON Flames 5-4 with Chad Cowan’s hat trick goal standing up as the game-winner.

In other action Sunday, Kilrich beat the Klondyke Dental Molars 5-3 and the Firth Rangers shut out EDI 3-0 behind goalie Scott Casselman.
