TIMING IS EVERYTHING – The Yukon Schools’ Athletic Association held its early bird volleyball tournament for Grade 8 students over the weekend at the Vanier Catholic Secondary School. Some 200 players participated. Dawson City’s Robert Service School returns the ball against the Porter Creek Secondary School, top, and the Vanier Crusaders return the ball against the F. H. Collins Warriors. Wins and losses were not kept as the tournament was a learning tournament. A similar early bird tournament will be held this weekend at Porter Creek for Grades 9, 10, 11 and 12.
