Tahltan Selects top Fort Nelson Gongshow for youth division title

The Junior Tahltan Selects went undefeated

The Junior Tahltan Selects went undefeated last weekend to capture the youth division title at the 40th Annual Kilrich Building Centres Native Hockey Tournament.

The Jr. Tahltan Selects beat the Fort Nelson Gongshow 10-4 in the final on Sunday.

The Kwanlin Dun Warriors took home bronze after losing the winning bracket semifinal to the Junior Tahltan Selects and the losing bracket semifinal to the Fort Nelson Gongshow.

In the Jamboree Division, The Inland Tlingit Warriors fell to the North Yukon Eagles 4-3 in the final.

The Eagles had a tough journey to the final, getting bumped to the losing bracket in their first game with a loss to the Warriors. They had to win three games in a do-or-die fashion to reach the final for a rematch against the Warriors.

MVP: Logan Mould – Fort Nelson Gongshow
Top Scorer: Samuel Skinner – Whitehorse Warriors
Best Defence: Brydon Blake – Fort Nelson Gongshow
Best Goalie: Davie Gradner – Fort Nelson Gongshow

Overall Winners

Team Spirit Award: Selkirk Bear Cubs
Most Sportsmanlike Player: Daylan Alfred – Inland Tlingit Warriors
