Team Manta pulled off an upset in the Tuesday Night Squash League finals on Tuesday night at Better Bodies.

The team, comprised of Will Chetcuit, Lori Muir, Gabe Stetkiewicz and Sam Penner pulled off the win over Chilkoot Chiropractic & Rehabilitation Centre’s Gary Tanner, Paul Nelson, Jonathan Hawkins and Jane Bell. The total score was 15-14 for Manta, which wins the playoffs, while Chilkoot lands in second.

Chetcuit won the first match of the night 3-0 over Tanner. Nelson evened out the win-loss column with a 3-1 victory over Muir (who subbed for Manta). Hawkins continued the winning trend for Chilkoot with a 3-1 victory over Stetkiewicz.

In the final matchup of the night for the 1-2 placings, Penner kept Bell off the scoresheet, sweeping the match 3-0 to secure the win. Had Bell won even one game, Chilkoot would have clinched the win.

Ecological Logistics & Research Ltd. (Mackenzie Cameron, Glen Rudman, Dylan Letang and Kevin Daffe) beat Yukon Tree Services (Sylvain Theberge, Terri Cairns, Stephen Buckler [sub] and Grayson Peters) 15-14 to take third.

Thursday league finals kick off at 7 p.m. tonight at Better Bodies.
