Special Olympics Yukon has announced a new partnership with a local Whitehorse business.

This morning, in the foyer at Sport Yukon, Special Olympics executive director Serge Michaud introduced the small crowd of athletes, coaches and staff to the organization’s newest partner: Urban Realty Group.

“It’s a real nice fit,” he said. “We feel really good about it.”

Representatives from Special Olympics Yukon and Urban Realty Group were at the press conference.

“We decided that we needed to do something to give back,” said Dana Klock, a broker-owner with Urban Realty Group.

Addressing the athletes, she said,“Your perseverance, your determination and enthusiasm, it can only be admired.

“We will be your biggest cheering section for sure.”

Special Olympics Yukon athletes will be competing at the B.C. Special Olympics Summer Games in Kamloops this July.
