The dynasty lives on as the P & M Recycling Guns slid to another Men’s A division Dustball title with a 16-13 win over Jat’s Diggers on a bluebird Father’s Day at the Pepsi Softball Centre last Sunday.

Defending their titles from 2015 and 2016, the Guns have now won the Men’s A division nine out of 12 years.

“We feel like the pressure is on us as soon as the tournament starts,” said player-coach Michael Tuton.

This year Tuton played full-time coach duty as he continues to recover from a broken leg sustained at this tournament last year.

The Guns is a mix of young talent and veterans with a decent amount of the team over 35.

Tuton said that the final wasn’t their best game of the tournament, but it wasn’t their worst either.

Near the middle of the game, their bats went quiet.

“We couldn’t string together the hits we needed,” he said.

Joe Vigneau got the team back on track with an at-bat that Tuton called a “turning point” in the game. From then on, the Guns were able to score runs in each of the remaining innings.

It was “just good enough to win,” said Tuton.

The Guns will have to wait until next year to wear their royal blue jerseys again as the local men’s slo-pitch season wrapped up with the tournament.
