Oldtimer Hockey League players were back on the ice last night after the holiday break.

Eighth-place Kilrich Building Centres (6-15-3-0) faced second-place Yukon Inn (12-8-4-0) in the early game. Yukon Inn’s Mike Blower and Shawn Kinsella scored in the first half to give YI the lead. Greg Charlie added two more early in the second before Kilrich brought it within two mid-way through the second frame with goals by Mike Jim and Gord Campbell. YI would go on to take the win 7-2 adding another goal from Charlie, Kinsella and Mike Muller.

The late game had league-leading Medicine Chest Pharmacy (17-2-5-0) square off against EDI Environment Dynamics Inc. (11-7-6-0), which is tied for second in the league.

Medicine Chest secured the win in the first frame with goals from Blayne Monahan, who now has a league-leading 53 points, Kirk Price (2) and Chris Nash. Price finished off his hattrick night with the second period’s sole goal to cement his team’s 5-2 win.

EDI goals came from Greg Lane and Martin Lawrie.
