Jim, Knutson power Molars to 7-3 win

Mike Jim and Michael Knutson each scored twice to lead the Klondyke Dental Molars past Medicine Chest 7-3 in oldtimer hockey action Sunday at Takhini Arena.

Tony Park, Rick Gingell and Greg Bull also put pucks past Eugene Johnson, while Shawn Kinsella, Jeff O’Farrell and Blaine Demchuk responded for Medicine Chest.

Meanwhile, Air North kept pace with the Molars, downing Yukon Inn 3-1. The two teams are tied for second in the oldtimer league standings, behind first place Kilrich.

Ron Sumanik, Bernie Adilman and Bryce Bekar all scored for Air North, while Steve Smith had the lone marker for Yukon Inn.

In other action, Kilrich remained unbeaten on the season with a 5-3 win over EDI.

Mark Suominen, Daryl Berube, Dave White, Trevor Hale and George Harvey all lit the lamp for Kilrich, while Ed van Randen, Chris Simons and Pat Tobler had EDI’s goals.

EDI remains tied for last in the league with the AON Flames, who lost 6-1 to the Firth Rangers Sunday.

Jason Cunning scored twice for Firth, with Bruce Demchuk, Joel Witten, Charles Brodhagen and Les Luciuk adding singles. Brodhagen added three assists in the win.

Mike Gau scored for AON.
