Awards doled out at Celebration of Sport Excellence

The Government of Yukon and the Yukon Aboriginal Sport Circle

The Government of Yukon and the Yukon Aboriginal Sport Circle gave out awards recognizing excellence in sports at the first-ever Government of Yukon Celebration of Sport Excellence ceremony at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre Thursday night.

The recipients were:

Thanks Star for covering this event..I was there and appreciate how darned hard it is to compete...it's not kindergarten..someone wins and someone loses...it takes a lot of guts to get out there, bust your buns and then..lose..and then you have to smile about it and congratulate the guy that beat you..there should be a celebration for everyone that competes..maybe not a Gold in medal, but truly a gold in heart..
