The female victim of a hit and run Monday night was medevaced to Vancouver General Hospital with head injuries and a broken ankle.

The 51-year-old woman is in stable condition, Whitehorse RCMP Cpl. Natasha Dunmall said this morning.

The hit and run was reported to police at 9:30 p.m. Monday.

It occurred at McIntyre Drive and McClennan Road in the city’s McIntyre subdivision.

She was medevaced to Vancouver from Whitehorse General Hospital at about 3 a.m., said spokesman James Low.

Dunmall said police have not made any arrests, nor do they have a description of the suspect vehicle.

“We’re asking people in the area who may have seen it to contact RCMP or KDFN (Kwanlin Dun First Nation) Justice,” she said.

Whitehorse RCMP can be reached at 667-5555 and the First Nation’s Justice department at 633-7851.

Slow down when approaching people on Mar 25, 2015 at 6:13 pm

I find drivers in general in Whitehorse to be a very inconsiderate bunch. I can understand driving faster when heading to PC or up Hamilton B, but when you get into downtown or the neighborhoods you should be slowing, especially for pedestrians. I don't know how many times I have taken my dogs for a walk along Lazulite and vehicles are flying up and down there like it is a freeway!!

Seems we have lots of crime up in that part of town for some odd reason.
A few unsolved murders and gobs more that "never" makes PC news.
Kinda seems to me..a no go zone for the yellow stripes and red stripes?

Is it that they wish to not offend and deflect instead?
I always thought it was protect and serve...the whole community?
I hope this lady is going to be okay.
