Whitehorse RCMP are seeking information about a hit-and-run over the weekend.

At around 12:20 p.m. Saturday, police received a report that a child had been hit by a truck in front of 20 Teslin Rd. in Riverdale.

The truck failed to remain at the scene.

It was last seen heading south on Teslin Road toward the round-about, then proceeding into downtown Whitehorse via Alsek Road.

The child was transported to Whitehorse General Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver is believed to have been male.

The vehicle involved is a large double-cab white truck, possibly a Dodge or Ford from the mid 2000s, with scratches on it.

Police are asking witnesses or anyone with information regarding the matter to contact them at 667-5555.

Gee another scumbag in our community?
Given the absolute fetish for identity politics, this a hate crime?
I mean clearly if the driver hit and split, must hate kids?
Clearly must hate our society and community, maybe even themselves.
So unless this kid identifies as a gay kid...it just gets regular investigating?
Not directed to the crew at M this post, but rather illustrating just how polarizing identity politics and those who support them ...are.
A wee child was hit, perhaps take a few members off "operation rainbow burnout" and source out this alleged scumbag. Get the driver in front of the courts ... and the lunacy will be "addressed" via IP.
Lather, rinse, repeat!
Hope the wee gaffer is going to be ok.
