A missing man was found by the Watson Lake RCMP last Saturday following a five-hour search.

At 5:45 a.m., police received a report that a 56-year-old man in medical distress had gone off on foot into a heavily-wooded area near Two Mile Village.

All available detachment members responded, police said Monday afternoon. Community members assisted with the search.

Five hours later, officers on ATVs located the man near Three Mile Lake.

“He had travelled a significant distance through thick bush,” police said.

They brought him to the Watson Lake Community Hospital, where he was reunited with his family and received medical treatment.

He is expected to make a full recovery.

I think that there was a woman lost right close to town there somewhere. What, do they need some better signage on the walking trails? Has the local MLA done anything in this regard? I thought so.
